Art Lessons
I give art instruction in a group setting in my home studio. During the school year I offer a class on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. I also hold a class on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Summer classes are also available. If you are interested, but the times are not suitable, please contact me and perhaps an alternate time can be arranged. All classes are $15 each. A supply list will be furnished to you during the first class. I also offer semi-private adult instruction for $25 for an hour class.
Classes consist of each student working on an individual project, from watercolors, pastels, charcoal, pencil sketching, oil painting, acrylics, calligraphy, etc. This way each student can learn exactly what they are interested in. I have many examples of projects from which they can choose, or they can use their own ideas. I have a large file of pictures and photos of animals, still life, portraits, flowers, landscapes, etc. which they can use for reference in creating their own artwork. Each student gets individualized attention during this group class. I find my students develop their artistic abilities quite quickly in this setting.
Commissioned Art
I accept commissions for artwork. Original paintings can be created to fit your exact needs, in oils, watercolors, acrylics, or pastels. As an artist, I specialize in creating paintings that match your decor and furniture colors. I also paint murals on walls (great for kids' bedrooms and play areas). I create custom paintings using your choice of colors, subjects, and styles. Original art can be created in a variety of styles besides the ones seen in the samples on this page. Music Lessons
Piano, keyboard, organ, guitar, ukulele, and beginning drum lessons are available in my home studio. All are private lessons of 30 minutes, once weekly. The fee is $17 per class. Each student will need to purchase music, theory, and technic books. Piano instruction is available during the school year and summer. I make music lessons fun and exciting by teaching my students music they enjoy, such as Disney songs, hymns, patriotic melodies, TV theme songs, Indian songs, jazz, etc. Children and adults of all ages can learn to play the piano. Parents are always welcome to sit in during any class. A perfect addition to your homeschool curriculum.
